1960s Schiaparelli Brooch/Earring Demi Parure Watermelon Tourmaline
[svgallery name="Watermelon Pin ears"]
Vintage Brooch features Elsa Schiaparelli’s trademark watermelon stones that resemble faux tourmalines set in large dog tooth prongs. These stones are LARGE and measure nearly one inch in diameter. A ribbon of small fuchsia rhinestones encircle the watermelon stones. Several chaton cut stones with an aurora borealis finish accent the piece. An applied oval plaque on the reverse reads SCHIAPARELLI ©. Gold toned metal. Several people have tried to tell me that these earrings are not a mate for this brooch as they are not marked and do not have watermelon stones. However, they are very creatively styled with a portion of the earring on the front of your lobe and the other triangle jutting out from the back. Also, they feature stones of an exact color match to the accent stones in the brooch. I bought the earrings and brooch as a set from the original owner.
Measurements
Brooch is: 3.25 inches in width 2.75 inches at it’s longest
Earrings are: 1.25 inches in length Top of triangle is 7/8th inch wide.
Condition
Earrings may seem a little loose, but they were very tight and pinchy, so I loosened them. They are still tight on the ear, but far less painful.
Grade: Excellent
