1960s Jomaz Shooting Star Rhinestone Comet Brooch Joseph Mazer
[svgallery name="JoMaz 2 tone"]
I date this brooch by Joseph Mazer (marked Jomaz) to the late 1950s or early 1960s. The camelot era, if you will. The Jomaz signature with © following it dates to a time after 1955. Comet motif pin is an interesting combination of contradictions. Brushed gold toned spray is sandwiched by a center of rhinestones pavé set in a silver toned metal and a brushed silver toned metal spray that also has pavé set rhinestones. The three pieces are tightly riveted together. Excellent construction.
Measurements
Slightly oblong brooch measures 2 inches by 2.25 inches.
Condition
I noticed one slightly darkened stone in the back. The center dome is brilliant and flawless.
Personally
This piece has been with me a long time. It survived my last burglary. It has loads of luck. It will surely pep up any winter coat and start many interesting conversations.
Grade: Excellent
