This piece can be dated between the years 1939, when Solomon Finkelstein founded the company Déja and 1941. Another costume jewelry company DuJay, Incorporated felt the name was an infringement and took him to court requiring him to change the name. On Jan. 17, 1941, a name change to “REJA” was announced.
Charming enameled scotty dog dress clip features rhinestone accents at the ear and a collar of rhinestones as well. Gold toned metal.
Measurements
Clip/pin is 1.75 inches high and 1.25 inches at it’s widest point.
Condition
Considering age, not half bad. As you can see there is significant wear to the enameling. The gold tone is also worn away on a good portion of the reverse. Surface scratching throughout, particularly on the reverse. Rhinestones are still brilliant. More so than they appear in the photos.
