[svgallery name="Green Purple Leaf set"]

This brooch is either in a feather or leaf design with complimentary earrings. Marquise cut stones in pink, purple, olive green and black are set in bright gold toned metal. Chaton cut stones in olive green, shocking pink and amethyst colors with one teeny tiny black stone at the top. These stone are prong set on a separate piece of metal that is riveted to the stem on the reverse of the pin. This creates a three dimensional effect.

D&E Characteristics

Marquise cut stones (except for the black ones) are unfoiled and are in open backed settings, allowing the light to pour through the stones. The riveted piece is another tell tale sign.

I have always loved large and unusual rhinestone jewelry. In the ten years I have been buying and selling vintage costume jewelry for a living, I have not discriminated based on whether pieces are designer signed or unmarked. This proved a wise position as Juliana style jewelry has been discovered. Everyday I find more of my pieces have been confirmed as being made by Delizza and Elster.

Measurements

Brooch measures:

2 3/8 inches at it’s widest About 2 inches tall .75 inches in depth

Earrings measure:

1 3/8 inches tall .5 inches in width

Condition

Brooch is in near mint condition with no visible flaws. The earrings are in great shape from the front, but there is considerable wear to the gold toned plating on the reverse. Otherwise, lovely!

[svgallery name="Tara"]

An unusual combination of stones can be found in this piece. A center stone that varies in color from citrine to topaz to emerald color all in one stone! Trimmed with a ring of topaz colored chaton cut rhinestones. An edge of topaz colored marquise cut stones with both subtle and bright orange chaton cut stones. Earrings echo the pin, employing all the same stones. Set in brightly colored gold toned metal.

Juliana style characteristics… Unusually colored brooch has unfoiled marquise cut stones in an open backed setting. There is also a hook, often found on Juliana brooches so they can also be worn as a pendant.

Measurements

Brooch measures: Just over 2 inches in diameter. Nearly 1 inch in depth.

Earrings measure: Just OVER 1 inch in height. Just UNDER 1 inch in width.

Condition

There is one teeny tiny fleck of foil missing from the center stone of the brooch. I didn’t notice after full examination, until I held it up to a light. Absolutely not visible while wearing. There is foil loss to the center stone on each earring and the plating on the reverse has significant wear throughout. Pin is not marked. Earrings are signed TARA, which is why we never break up sets!

Brooch Grade: Excellent

Earring Grade: Good
